Feast of St. Francis

On Wednesday, October 4, Terra Sancta Ministries celebrated the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, founder of the Order of Friars Minor (the Franciscans) and a Doctor of the Church, with Holy Mass and later in the afternoon, an Animal Blessing.  Fr. Alex called it an “Animal Blessing” rather than a “Pet Blessing” as he desired not only to bless the pets brought by their owners that day but also the multitude of squirrels, groundhogs, rabbits, birds and other creatures, both seen and unseen, that live on the two acre property.  St. Francis of Assisi, pray for us!

The statue and Relic of St. Francis (below, on table) were prominent in the Sanctuary.
